Octapharma Biopharmaceuticals inaugurates new research center in Technology Park Heidelberg

After two years of construction, we are pleased that we could move into our new building in early April. On 5 500 square meters 46 Octapharma employees currently do research and work and later it shall be up to 100.

The move from Martiensried to Heidelberg was a challenge that we have accomplished with great dedication and creativity. Heidelberg offers, in contrast to Munich, a place that meets our needs perfectly. We appreciate the new location, the innovative atmosphere, the possibility of a close cooperation with the university and research facilities, and the proximity to businesses that operate in similar areas. Here we have a perfect combination of an excellent research infrastructure, family-friendliness and quality of life in a special way.

Our main focus is the research and development of  recombinant proteins produced in human cell lines.  Our primary interest is to develop therapeutic proteins with an improved compatibility for the patient and with an extended half lifetime. Thus, we have implemented the GMP guidelines into our laboratory work life to ensure the highest and safest quality for the patients.
