As enforcement for our team, we are currently looking for the following positions (to be staffed as earliest as possible) The initial location of this position is at our facility in Martinsried, which will be relocated to Heidelberg in the beginning of 2012.

Line Manager in fermentation (m/f)

Job profile
• Planning, establishment and inspection of biotechnological fermentation processes in the lab up to half-technical scale
• Specialist competent and self dependent supervision and coaching of a project team, which consists of scientific and technical staff during the conduct and documentation of experiments
• Literature and patent research
• Close collaboration with internal and external partners
• Direct reporting to general manager.

Your profile
We are looking for a strong personality and creative mind, who successfully graduated from university and holds a PhD in the area of biotechnology, process engineering, chemical engineering or a similar area of study. Scientific expertise in the areas of eukaryotic cell culture and fermentation is our prerequisite. You exhibit multiple years of relevant work experience as a lab scientist or project leader in industry or academia and have successfully supervised a research team. Good proficiency in English is essential. Moreover, you distinguish yourself through an accurate and structured way of working-also under time pressure-as well as personal responsibility and high sense of responsibility. In order to fulfill your tasks, the ability to work in teams, organizational talent and flexibility are vital.

Scientist (m/f) in the area of stability tests

Job profile
You will apply protein analytical measuring methods (especially ELISA, HPLC, Western Blot and SDS-Page, beneficial you are skilled in mass spectroscopy
Independent writing of reports and SOPs
Ensure the knowledge-transfer from Sweden to Germany
Participation in building a new group in Heidelberg

Your profile
Successfully graduated from university (ideally incl. PhD) in the area of biotechnology, process engineering, chemical engineering or a similar area of study
Scientific expertise in the areas analytical methods
Minimum three years of work experience in academia or industry
Routine in MS Office . Swedish language skills are not required, but of an advantage.

Enthusiasm about lab work, self responsibility and team spirit are vital as well as an independent work style, preciseness, accuracy and flexibility.

Research Associate in the area of protein purification (m/f)

Job profile
You will support our line managers in the purification of recombinant proteins in lab scale up to a technical scale. This includes the establishment, optimization and up-scaling of purification processes of recombinant proteins in a pilot plant under GMP guidelines. Moreover, you will apply protein analytical measuring methods and subsequently analyze data under GMP guidelines. Additionally, the independent writing of reports and SOPs in English are part of your daily tasks.

Your profile
We are on the search for a personality who has completed his/her training as a technical assistant (BTA, CTA) or has successfully graduated (BSc., MSc.) from university in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, process engineering or bioengineering. You can provide various years of profound work experience in academia or industry. Expertise knowledge in native protein purification and protein analytics, including a broad spectrum of various purification methods are our prerequisites. Ideally, you already have knowledge in scaling up purification processes from a lab scale to a technical scale and experience with working under GMP guidelines. Routine in MS Office and very good proficiency in English make you stand out as a candidate. Swedish language skills are not required, but of an advantage.
